FAQ

The Música de Graça music is released under a Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 3.0 Brazil (CC BY-NC-SA 3.0). I personally call it “Demo-tape license”. This means,

you can:

  • download freely,
  • share with friends,
  • share on your personal website/blog/myspace,
  • use as soundtrack on your video;

as long as you:

  • Include author credit (composers, artists and Música de Graça),
  • have your video or derived work under the same license (CC BY-NC-SA 3.0),
  • DO NOT use it for commercial purposes.
  • Attention: blogs with ads can be considered commercial purposes.

Therefore, you are not allowed to record this music on a commercial CD, use it for advertising, TV and Movie soundtracks, radio, etc.

Radio and TV

Our tracks have ISRC codes. If it happens to be played on a radio or TV station, its rights must be paid as a CD track.

Online Radios

If the radio is completely non-profit (no ads and no subscription charges, for example), simply add the credits.  If it is commercial, the author and performer rights should be collected as usual.

YouTube

If the video uses the music as soundtrack, just publish it under the same license and include the copyright credit (musicians, composers and link to Música de Graça). You can’t have commercial uses on your videos (ads, a viral product, promotion, etc…).  If your video uses excerpts from the video we produced for Música de Graça, you must include credits for camera operator, editing, etc…

I want to record this music in my album.

Música de Graça is not a publisher of these compositions – we are only allowed to keep the tracks for download on the site.  We can help you contact the composer or publisher, if you are interested in recording one of these songs. Most of the composers will love knowing that someone is interest. Just ask.

Then play it! And don’t forget to put it correctly on your official set list.
